Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC
One-Year Installation Labor Warranty
At Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC, we take pride in delivering professional craftsmanship and quality installations. We stand behind our work with a One (1) Year Limited Installation Labor Warranty on all completed flooring installations, beginning on the date of substantial project completion.
This warranty applies only to the installation workmanship performed by Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.
What Is Covered
During the one-year warranty period, Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC will repair, at no labor cost to the customer, any installation-related defect determined to be the direct result of improper workmanship.
Examples of covered workmanship defects may include:
Separation of flooring caused by improper installation.
Loose flooring resulting from installation error.
Incorrectly installed transition moldings.
Improper fastening of hardwood flooring where installation methods did not follow manufacturer specifications or accepted industry practices.
Stair tread or riser movement resulting from installation defects.
Base shoe or quarter-round becoming detached due to installation failure.
Installation-related squeaks caused by improper fastening techniques (where applicable).
Minor corrections necessary to remedy workmanship deficiencies identified during the warranty period.
Warranty repairs will be limited to correcting the original installation defect only.
Industry Standards
All flooring installations are performed in accordance with:
Manufacturer installation instructions.
Applicable National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) installation guidelines for hardwood flooring.
Industry-recognized best practices for Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), laminate flooring, engineered hardwood, stair installations, and trim work.
Local building code requirements where applicable.
Whenever manufacturer requirements differ from general industry standards, the manufacturer's written instructions shall take precedence.
Conditions Required for Warranty Coverage
To maintain warranty coverage, the following conditions must be met:
Flooring must remain in the original installation location.
Indoor temperature should generally be maintained between 60°F and 80°F.
Relative humidity should generally remain between 35% and 55%, or within the flooring manufacturer's recommended range.
The home or structure must be climate controlled after installation.
Proper maintenance and cleaning procedures recommended by the flooring manufacturer must be followed.
Felt furniture protectors must be installed on furniture legs before use.
Standing water must be removed immediately.
Rugs with non-staining backings should be used in high-traffic areas when appropriate.
Expansion gaps and trim components must not be altered or removed.
This Warranty Does Not Cover
The following conditions are specifically excluded from this labor warranty:
Normal Wear
Surface scratches
Dents
Scuffs
Finish wear
Gloss changes
Traffic patterns
Pet damage
Damage from high heels or rolling loads
Moisture-Related Issues
Damage resulting from:
Plumbing leaks
Appliance leaks
Flooding
Standing water
Ground moisture
Excessive humidity
Low humidity causing shrinkage or movement
Water intrusion through windows, doors, roofs, crawlspaces, or foundations
Structural Movement
Damage resulting from:
Foundation settlement
House movement
Framing movement
Subfloor movement
Expansion or contraction of the structure
Improper subfloor construction performed by others
Customer or Third-Party Damage
The warranty becomes void for areas that have been:
Modified by another contractor.
Repaired by anyone other than Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC.
Removed and reinstalled by others.
Damaged during moving of furniture or appliances.
Subjected to abuse, neglect, or misuse.
Manufacturer Defects
This warranty does not cover:
Manufacturing defects.
Color variation.
Shade differences.
Milling defects.
Finish defects.
Product recalls.
Material failures covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
Manufacturer warranty claims shall be submitted directly through the product manufacturer.
Environmental Conditions
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
Sunlight or UV fading.
Seasonal expansion or contraction within manufacturer tolerances.
Excessive indoor humidity fluctuations.
Failure to maintain proper environmental conditions.
Subfloor Conditions
Our installation warranty applies only to the workmanship of the flooring installation.
Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC is not responsible for failures resulting from:
Existing structural deficiencies.
Improper subfloor construction.
Deflection exceeding manufacturer specifications.
Hidden moisture issues.
Concrete moisture emissions beyond manufacturer limits.
Existing squeaks not corrected during contracted repairs.
Pre-existing floor unevenness that exceeds manufacturer tolerances and was declined for correction by the customer.
Where subfloor repairs or leveling services are declined by the customer against professional recommendation, any related warranty coverage is void for resulting issues.
Seasonal Movement
Wood is a natural product.
Minor seasonal expansion, contraction, small gaps, or slight changes in appearance caused by changes in humidity are normal characteristics of hardwood flooring and are not considered installation defects.
Likewise, floating LVP and laminate flooring are designed to expand and contract with seasonal environmental changes.
Customer Responsibilities
To preserve warranty coverage, customers agree to:
Follow all manufacturer maintenance recommendations.
Maintain proper indoor climate conditions.
Report warranty concerns promptly.
Avoid allowing water to remain on the flooring.
Use appropriate floor protection under furniture.
Prevent damage from improper cleaning products or steam mops unless specifically approved by the flooring manufacturer.
Warranty Service
If you believe a workmanship issue exists, please contact Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC as soon as reasonably possible.
An inspection may be scheduled to determine whether the issue is covered under this warranty.
If the condition is determined to be a covered workmanship defect, Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC will repair the affected area at no labor cost to the customer.
If inspection determines that the issue is not covered under this warranty, any requested repair work may be performed at the current service rates with customer approval.
Limitation of Liability
This warranty is limited solely to the correction of installation workmanship.
Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC shall not be liable for:
Incidental or consequential damages.
Loss of use of the property.
Hotel or temporary housing expenses.
Loss of income.
Damage to personal property.
Costs associated with removing or replacing furniture or appliances unless specifically included in the repair agreement.
Maximum liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original labor amount paid for the affected installation.
Transferability
This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser listed on the installation contract and is non-transferable unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Manufacturer Warranty Disclaimer
Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC provides a warranty covering the quality of our installation workmanship only. All flooring materials, adhesives, underlayment’s, moldings, stair components, finishes, and related products are covered solely by their respective manufacturers' warranties, if applicable.
Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC does not manufacture the products we install and therefore makes no express or implied warranty regarding the performance, durability, color consistency, finish, wear resistance, or fitness of any product beyond the manufacturer's published warranty.
Should a product-related issue arise, Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC will make reasonable efforts to assist the customer in identifying the appropriate manufacturer and supplying documentation necessary to initiate a warranty claim. However, approval, replacement materials, reimbursement, and all warranty determinations remain the sole responsibility of the product manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranties may require specific installation methods, environmental conditions, maintenance procedures, and documentation. Failure to follow the manufacturer's care and maintenance guidelines may void the manufacturer's warranty, regardless of the quality of the installation.
By accepting the completed installation, the customer acknowledges that they have received or have access to the applicable manufacturer care and maintenance instructions and understand that product warranties are separate from Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC's One-Year Limited Installation Labor Warranty.
Right to Cure
As a condition of this warranty, the customer agrees to provide Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC with reasonable written notice of any alleged workmanship defect and a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, if covered under this warranty, repair the condition. Repairs or alterations performed by another contractor without prior written authorization from Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC will void this warranty for the affected area and release Floyd's Flooring & Stairs, LLC from any responsibility for associated costs.
